Water Fun

Both my girls love playing in the waters. Give them a bucket of water, they can entertain themselves for the next few hours.

Playing water is a classic experience that nearly all babies enjoy. Most of the time we will bring the girls outdoor for a dip but even if the weather is bad, they can still have a lot of fun entertaining themselves at home. Cups, bowls, spoons, etc.. Be creative!

HTC Flyer Launch (26 Apr 2011)

This is the first time I ever attended a product launch. Was expecting a boring and long session where the presenter will talk about all the different specifications of the new HTC Tablet. But thank God, the session was only about 30mins.

Attended the media launch with Yvonne and Joyce, cos we can’t make it for the night time consumer launch.

The 2 girls seems excited to receive the goodie bag. Actually just a few pieces of paper to intro the product. Now even a free post-it..

This is what we were suppose to see.

HTC Flyer Specifications

CPU speed: Qualcomm MSM 8255, 1.5GHz
Platform: Android with HTC Sense
Memory: Internal storage – 32GB, RAM – 1GB
Dimensions: 195.4 x 122 x 13.2 mm
Weight: 420 grams with battery
Camera: 5 megapixel colour camera with auto focus

So much for the boring intro..as a consumer, I do not care much for the specs, cos every new product will surely be boasting of their newest version, best upgrades, etc… the presenter mentioned about Honeycomb and Gingerbread. For a moment I thought he was talking about food… =p

The highlight was when we had the chance to get up-close and personal with the real thing.

I like the Notes taking function. The HTC Flyer comes with HTC Timemark, a great way to remember things from meetings. When you use the HTC Pen to write down your notes, HTC Timemark also takes an audio recording of the meeting at the same time. So if you want to check something afterwards, simply tap on the word in your notes and it will replay the audio from that point in the meeting. Cool right?

Joyce loves the 7” screen and how light it is.

We tried the camera function and did some on-the-spot editing.

Final verdict:

I am not a tech person, I can only give my comments and reviews based on how I feel after using it for a while. So, will there be a chance to try it? (just wishing)First impression was okay, compared to iPad, I think the apps are not there yet. Size and weight is a plus. But will it make taking notes or watching video not as nice? I heard HTC Flyer can play games without downloading it, that could be something interesting. HTC Sense is one of the major selling point, but seriously without the chance to use it for a period of time, how can one be able to understand the Sense pleasure? Selling price will be S$1068 and HTC Flyer will be launched officially in May island-wide.

Cute vs Cute

Both my girls are cute. But both of them are entirely different in their cuteness. Joey has a cute and innocent face when she was 2. Jayne is 2 now and her cuteness brings along a bit of cheekiness. Check out the following photos as proof.

Cuteness is a type of attractiveness commonly associated with youth and appearance.

My girls scores 100 in that aspect! Yea!!

Mind Over Body

How many hours do you sleep? How do you manage your time? How do you cope with 2 girls? These are just some of the many questions a father or any parent would face sooner or later.

Those without kids will wonder, how difficult is it to have kids and take care of them. I think no parent step into parenthood with a 100% understanding of what we are stepping into. But that still did not deter us from fulfilling one of the greatest responsibility a man can have. Responsible for another human being.

There were times I wish to sleep longer. There were times I wish to have some quiet time alone. There were times I wish to spend on myself more. But all these moments were taken by CHILDREN.

Do I regret? NO!

Is it tough? YES!

If we have made the decision to have children, then Mind Over Body is essential. We need to put aside self to take care of our kids. In fact, this generation’s parents have it much easier, many of us have domestic maids to help out in taking care of the kids and the household. In our parents’ time, they did everything on their own. And we grew up fine just the same. Or maybe even better. We grew up to be more independent, we were more resistant to stress and pressure.

I want to sleep, but how can I resist such an adorable face?

I want to rest after work, but how can I resist such an earnest plea?

I want to buy for myself, but how can I resist not buying for her?

Fathers are only fathers if we sacrifice for our children. Don’t ask how or why we do things for our children. The reason is we love our kids!

Smiths Authentic British Fish & Chips

Have you ever tried fish & chips with vinegar? Or without chilli sauce? I prefer not to have and a definitely must have respectively. Friends who know me, would confirm I am not a fish lover. The only type I ever eat is curry fish head (with lots of curry on the meat) and sashimi.

But this fish & chips is different! Since I was introduced to it, I have eaten there for more than 5 times in 2 months. Recommended to several other friends and they loved it too.

Kless is now a fan too =)

Situated at 230 Tanjong Katong Road.

The English eats their fish with vinegar and surprisingly, it is very good. With a pinch of salt, the fish is fabulous. No need for any other sauce, not even chilli sauce.

Introducing the fish! Don’t be fooled by the simple looks..

Coupled with a can of cold ginger ale, the meal is complete.

The Ice Cream Man

Found this small ice cream place along Haji Lane. Yes, you are right, we are back in that amazing place once again. I’m just amazed by the beautiful and unique things found in Haji Lane.

Besides serving ice cream, the shop serves ‘old-time’ games, people my era will be very familiar.

Tho’ small, the deco is not too bad either.

Most importantly, the girls love it.

The Polliwogs

This playground is situated along East Coast Park.

This is a fun place for the kids but it’s like a training camp for the parents. Especially for a tall parent like me. I have to bend my back all the time just to run after Jayne. I think I need a massage.

Besides the playground, there is also a cafe and a chill area for parents.

Coffee & Tea is complimentary and free-flow.
