Tips On Talking With Other Fathers?

Have you ever wonder why mothers can talk non-stop about their kids but fathers have nothing much to talk about? Mothers have support groups where they will come together for feedback sessions, learning from one another tips and skills on how to handle issues when taking care of their children. Fathers on the other hand, will hardly sit down in a circle and exchange tips on disciplining their children or any other topics.

So what can fathers talk about when we gather together? Here are some tips on what to say and what not to say:

1. Stay focus
Remember names. That’s all you need to know about the other guy. Once you get into politics or occupation, you are just wasting your time that should be devoted to fatherhood. Would you go to a clinic and talk to the doctor about income tax? Same theory.

2. Avoid topics that may cause envy
”My daughter is 1-year-old and she can call me Daddy.”
”My son is also 1-year-old and he is learning to read a book a week.”

3. Praise your wife lavishly
Just know that when all the idle talk is over, in the short term memory of the other guy, he will not remember much except the fact that you kept praising your wife. And at some point, this info will definitely be relayed back to your wife.

4. Always have an exit plan
”It was great meeting you. Gotta run. We are off to Toys ‘R’ Us.”
