Marine Life Park - Adventure Cove Waterpark

Sponsored Review

This is part 2 of the experience at the Marine Life Park. You can read about the first part here.

Adventure Cove Waterpark is an aquatic adventure park with something for everyone. And I really mean everyone, cos this is probably one of the very few waterparks in Singapore where both adults and children will have enough attractions to keep you busy for the entire day.

DSC_4310

From the exciting waterslides to the lazy river tube ride, you can be sure there isn’t a single moment of boredom in this waterpark. There are altogether 14 themed zones including a tropical jungle garden and a grotto inhabited by whimsical sea creatures. Get a chance to try snorkelling over a colourful coral reef with 20,000 friendly fishes.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My personal recommendation would be to take the Adventure River ride. The mild current will bring you one round the waterpark in about 20mins. Just grab a tube provided and enjoy the ride while scouting out the place for attractions you want to stop by later.
Children under 122cm in height must be accompanied by a supervising companion.

Thrilling Water Slides

Dueling Racer – take a friend on this dueling high-speed competitive plunge to the finish line. Just be sure your swimming gears are secured probably.

DSC_4332

Spiral Washout – get funnelled into an oscillating tube ride that will leave you and your friends reeling through a twisting, turning water flume.

DSC_4321

Riptide Rocket – the first hydro-magnetic coaster in Southeast Asia. Like an intense rollercoaster in water, this ride combines all the powerful climbs, plunging drops, terrifying twists and tight turns to make sure you are all pumped up.

Fun For Kids

Big Bucket Treehouse – every kid will go wild seeing the rush of the giant bucket tipping over gallons of fun in an action-packed wonderland of interactive water plays.

Bluwater Bay – catch the waves and share a fun time with your family.

One of the attractions of this waterpark that makes it so unique, is the Rainbow Reef experience. Snorkelling over a colourful coral reef filled with more than 20,000 fishes or all sorts.

For those who are not much into waterslides or rides, then just hang out at the chill out corner. They have sunbathing beds available or just some cosy sofas for you to rest and read a book.

Marine Life Park - S.E.A. Aquarium

Sponsored Review

DSC_4159

Finally something that is bigger and better than the Underwater World since 1991. The S.E.A. Aquarium is the world largest aquarium with more than 800 species of marine animals and still adding. The aquarium is home to majestic manta rays, enormous goliath grouper, Napoleon wrasse, and other gentle giants of the sea.

DSC_4171

The aquarium is separated into more than 10 different habitats, like Straits of Karimata & Java Sea, Straits of Malacca & Andaman Sea, Bay of Bengal & Laccadive Sea, Open Ocean, Arabian Gulf & Arabian Sea, Red Sea, East Africa, South China Sea, etc.

Check out the lively leopard and blue flasher wrasses.

There is also an interactive experience for the kids at the Discovery Pool.

As you move towards the Open Ocean habitat, you will not miss this amazing sight of sea jellies. To be honest, I have never seen sea jellies in brown or blue before. Definitely an eye-opener!

Even saw a humongous sea jelly (Moon Sea Jelly) which really looked like cauliflower.

DSC_4251

Nor have I seen such a tiny but intricate sea jelly (Lion’s Mane Sea Jelly) with such long-tentacles.

Giant Manta Rays, found on in the Open Ocean. They can easily each at least 7 meters in width. One can really sense that majestic feel especially when you see it glide in water.

Highly recommended to bring your kids to this aquarium. They will love the cool and the space to run around while enjoying the beautiful marine life.

Tokyo Trip - Shibuya 渋谷

This is a series of the places I have visited in Tokyo when Kless and I were there in October.

Shibuya 渋谷, is a center for youth fashion and culture, and its streets are the birthplace to many of Japan’s fashion and entertainment trends. Over a dozen major department store branches can be found around the area catering to all types of shoppers. Most of the area’s large department and fashion stores belong to either Tokyu or Seibu, two competing corporations.

A prominent landmark of Shibuya is the large intersection in front of the station’s Hachiko Exit. The intersection is heavily decorated by neon advertisements and giant video screens and gets flooded by pedestrians each time the crossing light turns green, making it a popular photo and movie filming spot.

How to get there
Shibuya Station is one of Tokyo’s busiest stations. It is served by the JR Yamanote Line, JR Saikyo Line, JR Shonan Shinjuku Line, the Hanzomon Subway Line, Ginza Subway Line, Fukutoshin Subway Line, Tokyu Toyoko Line, Tokyu Den-Entoshi Line, Keio Inokashira Line and the Narita Express.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When we were there, we exited from the wrong station exit and was looking at a bus interchange instead of the famous intersection. For a moment we thought we were at the wrong place or remembered wrongly.

DSC_2506

The doubt was deepen when all we could see were just small stalls along the streets selling flowers or fruits.

DSC_2505

Thank God we persevered and walked towards what we believe was the center of the attractions. Perseverance paid off handsomely when we finally found the intersection everyone has been talking about. Took quite a lot of shots but here are the better ones after adjusting everything I know about aperture and shutter speed.

Shibuya is truly the haven for shopping. You can find anything and everything if you have the money. Things are not cheap but when you are there, there is this magical thing that will pull you to take out your wallet and pay for it.

I bought the red cap in the middle. Peace!

DSC_2596

Mind you the streets are still crowded with shoppers even after 10pm. A shopping haven that never sleeps.

Just like other shopping areas in Tokyo, one of the highlights in Shibuya is the sex-related business.

Dinner was settled in one of the small ramen shop. I might have said this a million times, but every ramen stall in Tokyo serves the best ramen!! Nothing fanciful, just the noodle, soup, an egg and a few pieces of pork. Incredible!
