Same Or Different, I Love Them Both

Even in the same family, both child can be very different. Joey are Jayne are 3 years apart in age, so the difference is still not that obvious now, but from what I observe now, I can be sure when they grow older, their personality will be quite different. Some parents will say each child will take after each parent separately, but I beg to differ. I find traits of myself in both my kids. Likewise I can see a bit of Kless in both girls too.

Brought the girls to their favourite place, the beach at Sentosa. I would recommend the Tanjong Beach because it is usually less crowded and the toilets are cleaner.

Jayne is the ‘more drama’ girl like Kless and Joey is the ‘more exaggeration’ girl like me. Jayne tends to smile without showing her teeth and whereas Joey prefers to do otherwise, like Kless and me respectively. Proof of this point shown in the last photo of the post.

Both like to build sandcastles.

Joey prefers the shade (Kless) and Jayne surprisingly prefers the sun (me).

IMG_1477 IMG_1466

Joey is very active, she likes to move around, transporting water back and forth to build her sandcastle.

IMG_1461 IMG_1488

Jayne on the other hand, prefers to just sit down and quietly pack the sand and decorate her buildings.

IMG_1473

Me in all these fun? I like to take photos and record the bits and pieces of my girls’ lives.

They may be different or similar in certain areas, but one thing for sure, they are the same in Papa’s heart and I love them for whoever they are.

Protect Your Marriage & Protect Your Family

A website that promotes extra-marital dating is currently gathering members (over 21 million) and is soon finding its way into Singapore. “Life is short. Have an affair.” is the slogan now advertised by this online dating website and social networking service marketed to people who are already in a relationship.

Picture1

Putting aside religious factor that all fornication or adultery is a strict NO. But why would anyone encourage others to have an affair which is essentially a marriage breaker and family destroyer?

Posting on his Facebook, Minister for Social and Family Development (MSF) Mr Chan expressed his views that he does not welcome Ashley Madison website into Singapore.

Picture2

There is also a Facebook page created that has so far garnered close to 13,000 likes.

Picture3

On the blog page of the website, there is even a link to allow members to search for ‘married people’ in their area. How sick is this? Already the moral standards nowadays have been lowered, no longer like the era of our parents or grandparents, where family values like respect, love, honour, faithful, etc are being held in high esteem, but now the allowing of such website to surface (and mind you it has been around since 2001), is really a huge blow yet to the value of families all around the world.

I am not sure what can the government do about this. Can we prevent such harmful sites to be here? Or maybe it’s time we beef up the knowledge of the importance of family values in Singapore? Putting emphasis on family time is becoming more and more crucial for the ever-growing ‘busy parents’ now.

At the end of the day, much can be said and done, but if married individuals are not taking the responsibility to take care of their emotional needs, and build a strong married life with their spouse, then we don’t even need such a ridiculous website to destroy our families.

B&W Pulau Ubin

It’s easier to shoot in colour than in black & white. It is so difficult to visualise everything in black & white, taking care of the composition, exposure, contrast, etc.

Yet so many people are drawn to black & white photography. I hope you will like these photos as much as I have enjoyed taking it.

Plantronics BackBeat GO 2

Teaser

Are you a on-the-go person? Do you love music? I ticked both boxes. So I was more than thrilled when the chance was presented for me to try out the latest Plantronics wireless earbuds, BackBeat GO 2.

DSC_4301

It was even more appealing since the previous earphone I had was a normal wired one. I can only start to imagine the convenience in having a wireless earbuds that fits my rather active lifestyle.

In the coming one month, I will be putting the earbuds to the test. Will it enhance the quality of my life as it so promotes? Are the claims true? Is it really Sweat Proof? Tangle Free? Is the audio up to the mark? All these and many more queries will hopefully be answered along the way.

Like It Forward by SingPost

This year to celebrate World Post Day, SingPost is working with Jamiyah Children’s Home by creating Cherished Moments for children.

SingPost created a ‘LIKE it Forward’ app as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

L.I.F Logo 851x315

To encourage Singaporeans to bring smiles to children and rediscover the joys of gifting, SingPost has organised a campaign where users can ‘like’ and ‘share’ doodles drawn by 22 children from Jamiyah Home.

2. Kina

3. Inah

Here are the simple steps:

1. VISIT the ‘GALLERY’ (https://www.facebook.com/CherishedMomentsBySingPost/)

2. READ the story behind each child and the gift they wish for

3. ‘LIKE’ to make a child’s wish come true

4. SMILE because you’re one step closer to making a child really happy!

Picture1

From now till 11 November 2013, SingPost’s ‘Like it Forward’ will allow Singaporeans to give a child a gift and make a world of difference in a child’s life – by Facebook ‘Likes’! Each drawing represents a child’s desired gift. SingPost will sponsor the desired gift to the child at the end of the campaign period.

I am not getting anything for this promotion, just doing my part as a parent to help the underprivileged children.

LIKE it now!

Family Outing @ The Gardens

Family means ‘Father And Mother I Love You’. And it’s such a joyous opportunity when I was able to bring my mother and both my in-laws out on a Sunday afternoon to Gardens by the Bay.

Special thanks to Gardens by the Bay for making it possible for our family. It’s pretty cool to be known as ‘Garden Angels’, first time I am addressed as an angel. Nice ring to it!

DSC_4371

It was the first time some of the family members ever stepped foot on the gardens. So we were like tourists on our own soil.

First stop was lunch at the very nicely decorated Verandah Contemporary Bristo.

Try out the Curry Chicken and Tom Yum Seafood Pasta if you are there. I’m quite sure you would not regret.

By the way, if you have taken some nice photos at The Gardens, why not submit some of your photos for the GardenScapes Photography Exhibition. Submission details: http://bit.ly/GardenScapesforAngels

It was also the first time for all of us to go up the OCBC Skyway. For $5/adult or $3/child, I would highly recommend it, the view was spectacular!
