Coping with Haze and Staying Protected with Xepa

Sponsored Review + Giveaway

Singapore statistics have shown that the haze takes place every August to October. Pollutant readings have climbed consistently in the past years during this period due to the monsoon winds that direct smog from the forest fires into our land.

According to a clinical research paper, the top five physical effects of haze experienced by respondents in Singapore during the haze period are:
1. Mouth or Throat Discomfort
2. Nose Discomfort
3. Eye Discomfort
4. Headache
5. Breathing Difficulty

Often, the allergens in haze trigger allergic rhinitis and affects the respiratory tract, skin and/or even the eyes. When an allergen enters a body, it triggers the cells’ defence system, leading to the secretion of histamines. Histamines in turn trigger allergy symptoms such as runny nose, watery nose and rashes, thereby causing feelings of discomfort.

And here are five simple tips to cope with haze:

With 2 schooling kids at home, it is almost impossible to keep them totally at home when the weather is turning bad, the best we are doing now is to keep them hydrated, stay clean and rest more.
Personally, I am out everyday either for work or to run, so the protection I am getting is also minimum based on my own preparation. But thanks to
the folks of Xepa and the Allergy First Aid Companion box they have sent over, me and my family will at least be much more prepared for the imminent wave of hazy weather.
